MARENGO — Caleb Jansen shot a 44 for the nine-hole tournament so did two other golfers, but there were two golfers who came in with 42s and two with 43 scores.
Jansen’s 44 led Lynnville-Sully’s Hawks at Friday’s Iowa Valley 2016 Tiger Tournament. It just wasn’t the lowest score put up at Marengo Golf Club in the boys’ nine-hole golf tournament.
Host Iowa Valley had two golfers — Gavin Collingwood and Parker Wieck — carding 42s to lead the Tigers to the team victory. Iowa Valley won by 10 strokes with a 171. BGM was third with a 181.
Keota took third with a four-man total of 187 followed by English Valleys at 192, HLV at 214 and Lone Tree at 222. Lynnville-Sully finished seventh with a 233.
Kyle Van Dyke’s 52, Holden Jansen’s 62 and Dane Fuchs’ 75 combined with Caleb Jansen’s score.
Lynnville-Sully’s boys and girls play at 4:15 p.m. Thursday at home against Keota at Diamond Trail Golf Course in Lynnville.
