Mustang girls finish fifth at Oskaloosa

OSKALOOSA — The Prairie City-Monroe girls golf team finalized a busy week with another 18-hole tournament Thursday.

Playing at Edmundson Golf Course, the Mustangs finished fifth with a 416. Centerville won the team title with a 349.

Junior Breanna Maher was fifth overall with an 87, while the other counting scores were sophomore Sabrina Reed’s 108, junior Courtney Bridges’ 109 and sophomores Ellie Steenhoek and Madeline Mitchell’s 112. Senior Abby Van Haaften carded a 115.

“The conditions were much tougher today,” PCM coach Val Edwards said. “It’s been a very busy week. I am proud of their perseverance and work ethic.”

PCM takes a week off before hosting a tournament at 1 p.m. Thursday at Gateway Recreation Golf Course.
