Three-year-old hits the halfway mark

Three-year-old Jane Damman, has reached the halfway mark of 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. The program at the Newton Public Library is to encourage daily reading to children, starting as a newborn. Research shows that the most reliable predictor of school success is being read to at home during early childhood. The brain develops more rapidly during the first three years of a child’s life than at any other time during the lifespan. Contact the library at 641-792-4108 with questions.
