Newton Police Department

• Katelund E. Jeffrey, 19, of Prairie City, was arrested on two warrants after authorities were called at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday to 1325 First Ave. W. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Jerad M. McGinley, 31, of Newton, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after authorities were called at 9:56 p.m. Jan. 8 to 308 First Ave. E. Officers were called to Family Video about a man leaving with DVDs. Officers followed footprints to an apartment where they found McGinley. Officers found the videos as well as a baggy of methamphetamine and syringes. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Michael P. Wilt, 50, of Newton, is charged with driving while barred after authorities pulled him over at 10:10 p.m. Monday on East 21st Street South. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• A 15-year-old juvenile is charged with disorderly conduct after authorities were called at 9:06 a.m. Monday to Newton High School. Officers spoke with the principal who said the juvenile had gotten into a fight and exchanged punches. Officers spoke with the juvenile who admitted to fighting after agreeing to meet to settle a dispute. He was cited and released to appear.

• A 17-year-old juvenile is charged with disorderly conduct after authorities were called at 9:06 a.m. Monday to Newton High School. Officers spoke with the principal who said the juvenile had gotten into a fight and exchanged punches. Officers spoke with the juvenile who admitted to fighting after agreeing to meet to settle a dispute. He was cited and released to appear.
