Assembled for recognition

Hundreds of Berg Middle School students packed into the school’s large gymnasiums Friday for an assembly to recognize academic achievement and for a points competition between the seventh and eighth grades. The assembly included grand entrances, a preview of an upcoming lip-sync fundraiser, unique games and an epic “inflated Sumo” wrestling match between administrators. A trophy was also awarded to the eighth-graders for narrowly winning a judged contest to determine the most class spirit shown at the assembly. The “Pride Cup” judges were well-known area people, including former Berg teacher Shelly Fitzgerald.
