COLFAX — Republican presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina will make a campaign stop Tuesday at the Kum and Go Convenience store at 1200 N. Walnut St. in Colfax. The former Hewlett Packard CEO will drink coffee and meet with supports and potential Iowa Caucus-goers.
The 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Colfax event will be the first of a string of four Tuesday which includes townhall-style events in Iowa City and Keokuk, and another coffee stop in Mt. Pleasant.
Tuesday is part of a seven-day, 19-town stop for Fiorina in the final week before the Feb. 1 Caucus.
Fiorina, who polled as high as the number two spot nationally in September in the crowded Republican primary field, has now dropped to near the bottom of the pack — tied with Ohio Governor. John Kasich at 2 percent support among likely Iowa caucus voters in the latest Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics Iowa Poll.
