A private family graveside service for John P. Starrett will be at the Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg. Memorials to Jasper County Historical Museum or to the Newton Public Library may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton. Those left to honor John’s memory are his wife of more than 61 years, Barbara of Newton; daughter, Kelly Starrett of Newton; granddaughter, Kelilah (Matt) Ibbotson of Newton; brother-in-law, Jim (Mary Jane) Spencer of Newton; good friend, Don Brannian of Brooklyn; and many good neighbors and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen L. (Thomas R.) Brown; brothers-in-law, Paul, Herb and Tom Spencer; and their wives.
