NHS students selected for honor band

Seven Newton High School band members were selected to participate in the 11th annual Simpson College High School Honor Wind Ensemble Festival held Jan. 14 in Indianola. Those participating were, from left to right, Evelyn Berryhill,clarinet; Grant Nook, trombone; Adrienne Bergman, French horn; Rhandyn Oldfield,Bari-Saxophone; Kate Wyre, alto saxophone; David Lopez-Sanders, Euphonium; and Alex Doepp, clarinet. The Newton bands are under the direction of Jim Beerends.
