Daloris Maxine Kelsey, 90, of Newton, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at Skiff Medical Center. A funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24 at First Assembly of God Church. The family will greet friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday. Memorials to the First Assembly of God Church or Community Heights Alliance Church may be left at the church or the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Daloris, the daughter of Glenn Thomas and Addie (Marker) Kelsey, was born March 21, 1925, in Hamburg. She graduated from Hamburg High School in 1944. Daloris moved to Newton, in 1952. She worked as a brush gear assembler at Winpower Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1987. She also worked part time at Stockton’s as a meat cutter. Daloris was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, where she served as the Sunday school superintendent; Pioneer Club and Primetimers (senior groups at Community Heights Alliance Church); and the UAW Local 997 Retirees Union. Daloris loved children and served as a crossing guard for the school district for many years. She also enjoyed working in the yard.

Daloris is survived by her cousin, John Potter of Newton; nephews, Nolan and Eugene Kelsey; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by parents; brother, Don (Leola) Kelsey; and sister, Doris Kelsey.
