At the same time the girls were winning, Newton’s freshman boys’ basketball team dropped a 55-27 decision to the Warriors in the NHS lower gymnasium. The Cardinal boys trailed 19-2 after one quarter, went on a 10-0 run and then Norwalk rolled to a 30-12 halftime lead.
