A Gingerbread Christmas

Jasper County Historical Museum hosts Open House this weekend

Jasper County Historical Museum Christmas two-day open house will be from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the museum, 1700 S. 15th Ave. W.

Rooms throughout the museum have been decorated for the season by Questers, the Kellogg Museum, Baxter Garden Club, museum staff, board members and other volunteers.

Santa and Granny Claus will be at the museum and Winonah McGee, in Victorian garb, will be headquartered in the Victorian Rooms.

There will cookies to snack on as well as a “bake shop” where goodies may be purchased.

Admission is free; however, freewill offerings will be gratefully accepted.

It’s an opportunity to get in the Christmas spirit as well as take a look at the changes made at the museum in the last couple of years. Janice Cook will be demonstrating spinning wool on both days (just outside the quilt exhibit area).
