Former Dunkerton police chief arrested on theft charge

DUNKERTON — Dunkerton’s former police chief is facing theft charges in the wake of a state audit that found he allegedly used a city credit card to fuel his personal vehicle. Black Hawk County sheriff’s deputies arrested 55-year-old Timothy Lee Schultz Thursday night. Schultz, of rural Waterloo, was charged with second-degree theft and unauthorized use of a credit card. He was released from jail Friday morning. State auditors later found that he allegedly racked up about $2,500 worth of improper fuel purchases.
