Club Notes

Sunbonnet Questers met at the home of Shirley Mielke on Nov. 12. The meeting was called to order by vice president Linda Medland. Guest, LaVon Roth was introduced. The group was happy to welcome LaVon back after an absence of several years.

The roll call theme was Ordinary Today Collectable Tomorrow. The members suggested things we are using today that may well be collectable in the future and discussed some items that were used by our mothers which are now sought after. Minutes of the previous meeting and a report on the Fall Fling in Story City Oct. 17 were read followed by a discussion of the Story City trip that included visiting a turn of the century home, walking across the swinging bridge and a trip to the antique shops and mall.

It was announced we will be decorating rooms at for the Historical Society Open House from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 5-6. We will meet at 1 p.m. Dec. 2 to decorate. Linda shared information from the museum newsletter. A vote was taken on the menu for the December dinner meeting Dec.10 at the Hunter Mansion.

Jan Turk gave a very interesting program on celluloid Santas.

Following the program which created much discussion of these interesting figures which generated a discussion that continued through pumpkin cheesecake dessert. Thank yous were given to Shirley for inviting us to her home.

The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Hunter Mansion for dinner and an evening of fellowship.
