Trump to attend TV forum from Newton DMACC

WHO-TV to broadcast event live on Nov. 19

Billionaire and 2016 Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump is slated to be in Newton Nov. 19 for a televised forum on the topic of job creation, set to take place in the Maytag Auditorium at Newton DMACC.

The event is one of three one-hour town-hall-style forums with Republican candidates, all to be conducted that week by Des Moines NBC affiliate WHO-TV. The three candidates will each spend an hour with WHO-HD Political Director Dave Price during a series of long-form discussions the station has dubbed “The Iowa Forums.”

The forums will occur over three consecutive days during special editions of Channel 13 News at 4 p.m. with each broadcast focusing on a single topic important to Iowans.

According to a news release, the forums are meant to produce “meaningful dialogue on some key issues and have no ‘gotcha’ moments.”

Tuesday, Dr. Ben Carson joins Dave Price live via satellite to discuss education live from the WHO-HD Studios. Wednesday, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal will head to the Ankeny DMACC campus to discuss health care, and Trump’s jobs meeting in Newton is the following day to complete the series.

Tickets to the Ankeny or Newton forums, are free and can be obtained by completing an online form: http://bit.ly/1SkvSbY
