• NHS Fall Play will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Newton High School Centre for Performing Arts, 800 E. Fourth St. S. The student production is “Dastardly Deeds at Yoursin Mine or Yukon Take it With You.” Tickets are $5.

• Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at Hawkeye Stages in Newton. The group will meet for coffee and refreshments, with the meeting starting at 9:30 a.m. Program will be on Pearl Harbor. Anyone interested in joining DAR is welcome to attend or call 641-521-8846.

• Baxter PTO Fall Fun Fest will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Baxter Community School West Gym. A lunch will be available for purchase supporting the Baxter Star Steppers.
