• Autry D. Wims, 26, of Newton, is charged with assault causing bodily injury or mental illness and domestic abuse assault after authorities were called at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday to 400 N. Second Ave. E. Officers were called about an assault and spoke with the victim who said Wims had been upset with her and when she tried to voluntarily leave he grabbed her by the neck and threw her out. In the process, he allegedly pulled her hair and scratched her. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
