Phyllis Eleanor Nolin

Phyllis Eleanor Dray Nolin, 91, of Newton, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at the Newton Village Health Care Center in Newton. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in Eleanor’s name (to be used to help nursing students) may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home, please add; Attn: Nolin Family on the envelope.

Those left to cherish Eleanor’s memory are her daughters, Cheryl (James P.) McCleary of Newton and Marlena (Bill) Ray of Newton; six grandchildren, Karla (Troy) Gholson of Newton, James M. (Rhonda) McCleary of Peoria, Ariz., Kelly Harlow (Jay Bird, boyfriend) of Newton, Jason McCleary of Ft. Collins, Colo., Robin (Michael) Tremmel of Newton and Clint (Christine) Ray of Des Moines; her eight great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Erin, Connor, Stefan, Race, Faith, Taylor and Griffin; and nephew, David Dray.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin A. Nolin; and brother, Earl Leon Dray.
