Free ‘Inside Out’ showing Wednesday at NPL

A free movie showing of “Inside Out” will be held in the library meeting room at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Open to all ages. Synopsis: After young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions — Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness — conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.

Google Email Class

The library is offering an email class from 10 a.m. to noon on Nov. 6. Participants will set-up an email account through Gmail and learn how to check their inbox, compose a message, and delete messages. Registration required, call 641-792-4108. Class size is limited to five.

Ellis Island"

Pippa White will return at 6 p.m. Nov. 9 to the Newton Public Library. Patrons may remember Pippa from her performance this summer with “The Story of the Orphan Train.” Pippa calls her One’s Company Productions “Part theatre, part storytelling, part history.” Audiences call them unique, captivating and touching. “Voices from Ellis Island” is a dramatization of true experiences of immigrants who passed through America’s “Front door to freedom: in the early part of this century. It is estimated that 40 percent of the current United States population have ancestors who passed through Ellis Island.
