Hansen has common-sense approach

Nancy Parrott

Newton

Mayor Mike Hansen is running for re-election in next Tuesday’s city election.

Mike brings a common sense approach to city government. He gathers facts, listens to concerns and has a real passion for community.

In 2001, Mike was elected to the city council from Ward 2 and remained there until former Mayor Allen resigned in 2012. He was appointed mayor by the city council at that time and won re-election in 2013.

In the last few years under Mayor Hansen’s watch, two of the many important issues addressed by the city were: Strengthening the vicious dogs ordinance and creating a crime-free housing ordinance.

He continues to guide the city council as issues arise, always keeping in mind his No. 1 priority, which assures that city government works within its means and is a good steward of tax payers dollars.

Please vote for Mayor Mike Hansen on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
