ATLANTIC — Veteran Iowa legislator Jack Drake has died in a hospital at the age of 81. Marty Rieken of Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold says Drake died of natural causes on Sunday at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic. Drake, a Republican, was elected in 1992 to the Iowa House in southwest Iowa’s 21st District. His colleague Linda Upmeyer says Drake’s “expertise and guidance will be sorely missed.”
Rieken says a funeral is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Griswold United Methodist Church, with burial to follow at Griswold Cemetery.
