CEDAR FALLS — Authorities say the man who was critically hurt in an explosion at a Cedar Falls apartment complex has died. Cedar Falls Police Lt. Martin Beckner said Matthew David Ferleman died Saturday night, several hours after the explosion happened around 1:30 p.m. The 43-year-old had suffered burns across a significant part of his upper body. No other injuries were reported. Cedar Falls fire officials say they suspect natural gas caused the explosion.
