Two men charged with shooting trumpeter swans

DAVENPORT — Wildlife officials say two Iowa men are facing charges after shooting protected trumpeter swans. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says the swans were shot Saturday morning at the Princeton Wildlife Area in Scott County. One swan died while the other was wounded. Authorities say Levi Young, of Davenport, and Kyle Munson, of Eldridge, shot the swans while they were waterfowl hunting. Both men were charged with unlawfully killing a protected animal.
