• American Heart Association CPR & First Aid will begin at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at DMACC, 600 N. Second Ave. W. in Newton. This training covers CPR and First Aid in the same class.

• Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 223 E. Fourth St. N. in Newton.

• Jasper County Human Service Providers Meeting will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Salvation Army in Newton. Katie Brown from Employee & Family Resources will be discussing their Prescription Monitoring Program.

• 12 Women of the Bible women’s study will meet at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Hephzibah House, 721 E. Fourth St. N. in Newton.

• Newton Noon Kiwanis will meet at noon Wednesday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 223 E. Fourth St. N. in Newton. The program is titled "District Convention" by Bob Lane and Jim Daniels also the Installation of Officers. • Jasper County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Strategies Meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jasper County Community Center, 2401 First Ave. E. in Newton. Jasper County Emergency Management Agency is currently in the process of updating the 2011 Jasper County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The meeting will run until 3 p.m. Public input is extremely important to the process of writing plan. The public is invited to attend.
