Homebound reader service at Newton Public Library

The Homebound Reader Service is a free program specifically designed for those who are confined to their homes by an illness, injury or lack of mobility, either temporary or long term.

If interested, application forms will be mailed to your residence and may be returned via mail or to the library (mailing the forms confirms your residence requirements to receive a library card).

Patrons within Newton City limits will be assigned a volunteer who will drop off and pick up your library materials. Patrons living outside of Newton city limits are allowed to designate a volunteer who will pick up and drop off library materials on the reader’s behalf.

Homebound Readers are allowed to check out a variety of materials including magazines, CDs, audiobooks and books. Readers may also request specific titles and place holds on items.

If interested, contact Nicole Lindstrom, public services librarian, at 641-792-4108.
