Newton Police Department

• Randall G. Meyer, 56, of Newton, was arrested on a warrant for domestic assault after authorities were called to 902 First Ave. E. at 11:43 p.m. Friday. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• John L. Britton, 50, of Newton, is charged with disorderly conduct after authorities were called to 418 S. Second Ave. E. at 1:01 a.m. Sunday. Officers were called about a loud noise coming from an apartment. Officers found Britton who was yelling and had discharged a fire extinguisher and thrown a frozen ham at the door. He was also intoxicated. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• A 15-year-old juvenile is charged with disorderly conduct after authorities were called to 800 E. Fourth St. S. at 2:28 p.m. Sept. 18. The juvenile was involved in a fight reported by Newton High School Principal Bill Peters. He was cited and released to appear.

• A 17-year-old juvenile is charged with disorderly conduct after authorities were called to 800 E. Fourth St. S. at 2:28 p.m. Sept. 18. The juvenile was involved in a fight reported by Newton High School Principal Bill Peters. He was cited and released to appear.

• A 16-year-old juvenile is charged with disorderly conduct after authorities were called to 800 E. Fourth St. S. at 9:01 a.m. Sept. 18. Two girls were brought to the front lobby at Newton High School after they had been fighting outside of a classroom. A video showed the girls hitting, pulling each other’s hair and wrestling on the ground. She was cited and released to appear.

• A 16-year-old juvenile is charged with disorderly conduct after authorities were called to 800 E. Fourth St. S. at 9:01 a.m. Sept. 18. • Bryan D. Wedeking, 45, of Newton, is charged with interference with official acts and driving while license under suspension after authorities pulled him over in the 500 block of East 10th Street South at 6:40 p.m. Thursday. Officers observed a vehicle speeding and followed it until it parked and the driver got out. They followed the person, identified as Wedeking and asked him to stop because they knew he did not have a valid driver’s license. He then stopped and began walking at the officers in an aggressive manner. The officers pulled out a Taser and advised him to turn around. He refused several times before he turned around and allowed officers to place him in handcuffs. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
