Tintinnabulation to play at the library Monday

Tintinnabulation, a community-based handbell ensemble, will present a free concert at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Newton Public Library. The program will include a variety of selections — show tunes, folksongs, light classics and a narrated handbell story of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears,” especially for children of all ages. Those in attendance will even be invited to try playing a few simple songs on the bells. Tintinnabulation players use the set of handbells that was given to the Jasper County Museum when the Jasper County Care Facility closed in 2000. The present group formed nearly four years ago and is comprised of educators from the Jasper County area.
