MARENGO — The Colfax-Mingo volleyball team dropped to 0-2 in South Iowa Cedar League action Tuesday when it lost in straight sets to Class 1A No. 9 Iowa Valley.
Led by 16 kills and four aces from Marissa Ward, Iowa Valley won 25-16, 25-12, 25-13 to improve its conference mark to 3-0.
Sophomore Ries Wilson led the Tigerhawks (2-3 overall, 0-2 in SICL) with six kills, 18 digs and two aces. She was 7-of-7 in serves.
Megan Earles had 10 assists, five digs and was 7-for-7 in serves, while Chelsea Russell had nine digs and Aranda Woods finished with three kills.
Dakota Hostetter added six digs and was 10-for-10 in serves with one ace.
Colbee Cunningham had two aces, and the Tigerhawks were 39-of-42 in serves.
Iowa Valley finished with 14 aces.
Colfax-Mingo returns to action against SICL foe Sigourney at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Colfax.
