Ronald E. Hill, 81, of Baxter, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at Park Centre in Newton. Ronald has been cremated and his ashes will be buried at Restland Cemetery in Baxter. Memorials to Skiff Hospice may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
Ron was born June 18, 1934, in Des Moines. He graduated from Baxter High School in 1953. On Aug. 15, 1953, Ron was united in marriage with Donna J. Van Baale in Newton. He worked for 30 years at the Maytag Company in Newton, as an automatic washer repairman, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Local 997 Retirees Union, Purple Martin Conservation Association and the Nature Society.
Ron is survived by his wife, Donna Hill of Baxter; and his children, Rory Hill of Newton and Kathy (James) Smith of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Dean A. Hill.
