PRESTON — The Easton Valley school district has settled a legal dispute with a neighboring district in eastern Iowa. Easton Valley must pay $450,000 to Northeast Community School District to settle the two-year legal battle. Easton Valley was created by the merger of the Preston and East Central districts. East Central had a grade-sharing contract with the Northeast district, but the new Easton Valley board refused to abide by it.
