Jerold S. Aikin, 96, of Hot Springs, Ark., died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015. He was born Feb. 1, 1919, in Newton, to the late Fred R. and Marjorie (Teal) Aikin. Jerold was a member of The Cowboy Church. He was a World War II Army Veteran and was a member of Masonic Lodge for more than 60 years.

Jerold is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Kenneth and Richard Aikin. 
Survivors include his wife Marie Aikin of Hot Springs; son, Terry Aikin (Judy) of Des Moines; daughter, Pattie Wickliff of Thatcher, Ariz.; step-sons, Howard Kemp (Jean), Hal Kemp, Tommy Kemp (Hilda), all of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Brandon Aikin (Kelsey), Lindsey Nelson (Chad), Jason Wickliff, Ellen Iske (Al); numerous great-grandchildren; fine nieces and nephews; and his best friend, his dog "Cody."

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Crestview Cemetery with Pastor Bill Nichols officiating.

Honorary pallbearer includes Pastor Harvey Purdue.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at VA Hospital in Little Rock and the nurses and staff at The Pines Nursing Home.
