• Jasper County Human Service Providers will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Salvation Army in Newton. Representatives from ISU Extension & Outreach will be discussing the Human Sciences Programming available in our county.

• Newton Noon Kiwanis will meet at noon Wednesday at St Stephens Episcopal Church in Newton, for lunch and a program titled " Kinetic Edge Physical Therapy" by Manager Matt Scotton. This event is a fun, family-friendly event designed for your business to say “thank you” to the community. The Young Professionals of Jasper County provide each participant with 200 hot dogs, 200 buns and booth space on the square.

• Bowl Full of Blues will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Maytag Bowl at Maytag Park in Newton. Featured bands include: Mississippi. Bob Pace and the Dangerous band, Del “Saxman” Jones and Final Mix, Lamont Cranston Band and James Biehn Band. Rob Lumbard and Matt Woods will play between sets.
