Vote Cantu for school board

Don Poynter

Newton

I am endorsing Josh Cantu for the Newton School Board. As chair of the Newton Planning and Zoning Commission, I’ve served with Josh for the past six years. The commission deals with complex zoning laws and makes decisions that have long-lasting impact on Newton and its citizens. I am always impressed with Josh’s keen intelligence and ability to define core issues. He asks incisive questions and responds with solutions that are thought out, clear and decisive. These are talents that we need on the school board.

I served on the Newton School Board for 11 years, including two as president. It’s apparent that Josh understands the role of the board and the educational challenges that Newton faces. Josh and his wife, Katie, have two children and represent the future of our schools. While a school board member, I got to know Katie through her leadership in environmental education. As a partner, she adds a dimension to Josh’s qualifications. Newton continues to evolve as a community, and our schools need the kind of leadership and ability that Josh Cantu brings to the table. Please join me and support great schools in Newton. Vote for Josh Cantu on Sept. 8.
