Two altercations lead to Reasnor man’s arrest

A Reasnor man was arrested for assault and child endangerment after an altercation Sunday.

James A. Pinegar, 49, is charged with two counts of domestic abuse assault impeding flow or air/blood and child endangerment after authorities were called to a residence on South 112th Avenue East.

Pinegar was in a verbal argument with the victim when it became physical, and he allegedly grabbed her by the throat then slapped her in the face. He is also accused of pushing her against a wall while grasping her throat.

A second victim them tried to intercede and stop him when he allegedly grabbed that victim by the throat. The victims said Pinegar was impeding their airways and they could not breath. Pinegar admitted to grabbing them, but he would not say how. These acts were witnessed by three children at the residence.

He was taken to the Jasper County Jail where he posted a $1,000 bond and was released. His preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 26.
