• Daniel M. Witteman, 35, of Burlington, is charged with operating while under the influence after authorities pulled him over in the 3500 block of Highway 14 at 12:57 p.m. Monday. Officers were called about a reckless driver who had driven through a person’s property. Upon pulling him over, Witteman resisted deputies and was found in possession of an open container of alcohol. He smelled of alcohol and had droopy eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. He had a BAC of .243. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
