OWLS: Inside the world of taxidermy

The Jasper County Conservation Department will meet at noon Aug. 12 for its monthly OWLS program.

The Older, Wiser, Livelier Seniors program, or OWLS for short, is a conservation program that encourages seniors to stay active and continue learning about our natural world.

This month’s program is on the art of taxidermy. The group will be joined by local taxidermists Bob and Denise Christian. They will share with us the tedious process of turning a prized catch or trophy animal into a lifelike mount. The Christians will also have mounts on display for viewing.

Register by calling 641-792-9780 or stop by the office.
