DES MOINES — A 27-year-old Pleasant Hill man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole in the slaying of his ex-girlfriend’s fiance.
David Moffitt was sentenced Tuesday for the shooting death of 30-year-old Justin Michael. Moffitt was found guilty of first-degree murder last month. According to prosecutors, Moffitt broke into Michael’s Grimes home on May 8, 2014, and shot Michael as he slept beside his fiancée, Angie Ver Huel.
