Prairie City’s 9th annual free corn feed will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 8 on the square in Prairie City.
In addition to free sweet corn, there will be pork sandwiches, and bottled water. The Prairie City Lions will be serving watermelon. Also available will be tickets for ice cream from Goldie’s in Prairie City. There is no charge for this event.
This annual event was first organized by Marge Tynan. Tynan describes her thoughts in starting the event, “I wanted to give back to the community to bring the town people together so that they could visit and catch up with each other.
“I also wanted to give other people the chance to see the square and what Prairie City has to offer,“ Tynan said.
