ANKENY — A paramedic has helped a suburban Des Moines woman with the home delivery of her baby son.
Kosha McLean’s contractions started about 6 a.m. Monday at her home in Ankeny and progressed so rapidly she knew she and her husband, Stacy, wouldn’t make it to a hospital on time. Paramedic Justin Vander Leest soon arrived, and he stepped up to help in what was his first baby delivery.
