The Newton Municipal Band will close its concert season Thursday night with a patriotic concert.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. at Maytag Bowl in Maytag Park. The band will be directed by Dan Stecker, director of the Pleasantville High School Band.
A featured piece of the evening will be “Duty, Honor, Country,” with narration by the band’s Master of Ceremonies, Fred Chabot. The band will also pay tribute to the various branches of the armed forces, and a variety of marches and other tunes will be included in the evening’s line-up.
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, and get a jump on the Fourth of July festivities with this pre-Fourth of July concert in the park.
The Municipal Band wishes to thank the Newton Parks and Recreation Department for organizing the Summer Concerts in the Park Series.
Thanks also to Domino’s and especially to those in attendance each evening. The band is so glad to be a part of your summer entertainment.
Although this will be the Newton Municipal Band’s final concert of the season, the Newton Parks and Recreation Department’s Summer Concerts in the Park series will continue. Look for the band to be back in the bowl in 2016.
