Newton Police Department

• Jana D. Anthony, 52, of Newton, is charged with operating while under the influence and failure to maintain control after authorities were called to the 800 block of First Avenue East at 12:34 p.m. Sunday. Officers were called to a vehicle collision where Anthony said her vehicle rear-ended the vehicle of Jami Gander. Anthony said that he had been drinking earlier that day and had a BAC of .133. Gander had approximately $2,000 in damage and Anthony had approximately $200 in damage. She was cited and released to appear.

• Timothy L. Ballard, 29, of Newton, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after authorities were called to 1306 S. Sixth Ave. E. at 10:04 p.m. Monday. Officers went to talk with Ballard about an earlier incident. When asked if he had any weapons on him he said no but removed a meth pipe from his pocket. He was cited and released to appear.

• Tiffany N. Jones, 25, of Newton, is charged with disorderly conduct after authorities were called to 1453 N. 11th Ave. E. at 6:20 p.m. Monday. Officers were called about a fight. They found Jones at her home trying to get a group of people out when she excited and began yelling at another individual. They began to fight and Jones grabbed the other persons arm, scratching it when she was punched in the face by that person. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Jasmine M. Edmisson, 23, of Newton, is charged with disorderly conduct after authorities were called to 1453 N. 11th Ave. E. at 6:20 p.m. Monday. Officers were called on a fight and found Edmisson had been arguing with another person and after being scratched by the person punched her in the face. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Jessica M. Hutton-Lomeli, 26, of Newton, is charged with disorderly conduct after authorities were called to 1453 N. 11th Ave. E. at 6:20 p.m. Monday. Officers were called about a fight and found Hutton-Lomeli who said her mother had come to the residence and struck her on the head. Her mother was asked to leave the apartment but went back to get her daughter who was inside. After her mother was back outside, Hutton-Lomeli hit her in the mouth. On Tuesday, Hutton-Lomeli was charged with first-degree burglary after authorities were called to the same residence at 7 p.m. Officers talked to the victim who alleged Hutton-Lomeli entered the residence and assaulted her, hitting her five times in the head. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Josette M. Hutton, 44, of Newton, is charged with disorderly conduct after authorities were called to 1453 N. 11th Ave. E. at 6:20 p.m. Monday. Officers were called about a fight and found Hutton who had been in a fight with her daughter where she hit her and she was hit by her daughter. She was cited and released to appear.

• Paul A. Rex, 48, of Newton, is charged with public intoxication after authorities were called to the 900 block of South Fifth Avenue West at 12:23 a.m. Wednesday. Officers were called about a person in a driveway and found Rex. He smelled strongly of alcohol and had bloodshot, water eyes, poor balance and delayed reaction time. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
