WATERLOO — The Waterloo City Council has given its initial approval to rules limiting parking in front yards despite objections that residents didn’t have a chance to weigh in on the issue.
The council on Monday night narrowly approved the first reading of the ordinance by a 4-3 vote. The proposed rule would require cars to be parked in the driveway, but would allow residents to add a 10-foot-wide extension to their driveway provided it’s paved with asphalt or concrete.
