Betty Jean Tiffany

Betty Jean Tiffany, 92, of Mingo, died Monday, June 1, 2015, at West View Care Center in Indianola. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 5 at the Mingo United Methodist Church, with burial following at Ashton Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. The daughter of V.E. “Vinnie” and Cora (Kern) Crabb, Betty was born Feb. 8, 1923, in Collins. On May 6, 1939, she was united in marriage to Art Tiffany. Betty was a member of the Mingo United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, also in Mingo. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with her family. While at West View, she enjoyed planting flowers and tending to her tomatoes and every Friday was Bingo day.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Glenda (Larry) Barr of Indianola; two daughters-in-law, Rita Jo Doty of Altoona and Carol Tiffany of Newton; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Lucille Nelson of Marshalltown; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; five sons, Paul, David “Butch,” Gary, Keith and Terry; and a great-great-grandson.
