Jasper County Farm Bureau scholarship winners announced

Jasper County Farm Bureau has announced the winners of the 2015 County Farm Bureau scholarship awards are Riley Schnell and Jarett Horn. Each will received $1,000 toward their college tuition and fees.

Schnell is a student at Lynnville-Sully High School. His parents are Jason and Londa Schnell, of Sully. He will be attending Iowa State University in the fall, focusing on agronomy and agriculture systems and technology.

Horn is the son of James and Neisha Horn, of Newton. He will be attending Des Moines Area Community College, working towards a degree in agricultural education.

The Jasper County Farm Bureau annually awards scholarships to students pursuing a two or four-year undergraduate degree. From area applicants, the county office selects those to be forwarded to the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation. They then compete for additional State awards.

IFBF has awarded Horn for one of the 54 $1,000 State scholarship awards. This is in addition to his award of $1,000 received from the Jasper County Farm Bureau.
