Kelley re-appointed to capitol planning commission

Rep. Dan Kelley of Newton was re-appointed to the Capitol Planning Commission which advises the restoration and continued improvement of the Iowa State Capitol building and grounds. This will be the fourth year that Rep. Kelley has served on this commission.

“Representative Kelley will be a great asset to this commission and will work hard to further the improvement of one of our state’s most beautiful treasures,” House Minority Leader Mark Smith said. “The Iowa State Capitol provides the ideal setting for the work we do in the Legislature.”

The Capitol Planning Commission meets quarterly and is responsible for overseeing updates and renovations to the Iowa State Capitol and its grounds. The commission will develop and implement a plan for the improvement of the Capitol within the limits of its appropriation and present the plan to the general assembly once a year.
