• Kenneth M. Landgrebe, 18, of Newton, is charged with failure to maintain control after authorities were called to 709 S. Fifth Ave. E. at 6:15 p.m. Thursday. Officers were called on an accident and spoke with Landgrebe who said that he swerved to miss a rabbit and lost power steering in this vehicle causing his vehicle to hit a utility pole. Alliant Energy was called to fix the utility pole because of live wires across the road. Landgrebe had approximately $1,000 in damage and the pole cost approximately $2,000 to fix. He was cited and released to appear.

•Danielle N. Milledge, 24, of Newton, is charged with failure to obey stop or yield sign after authorities were called to North Sixth Avenue East and East 10th Street North at 7:57 p.m. Friday. Milledge was stopped at a stop sign and preceded into an intersection when her vehicle collided with Teresa Young’s vehicle. Milledge said that she did not see the vehicle and was distracted by her child taking her seatbelt off in the backseat. Milledge had approximately $1,500 in damage and Young had approximately $1,000 in damage. She was cited and released to appear.

• Laura L. Inman, 35, of Knoxville, is charged with following too close after authorities were called to the 400 block of First Avenue East at 3:54 p.m. Friday. Marshall Critchfield was stopped and Inman was unable to stop in time and her vehicle hit the rear of Critchfield’s vehicle. Both vehicles had approximately $200 in damage. She was cited and released to appear.

• Cynthia S. Strobel, 53, of Grinnell, is charged with failure to maintain control after authorities were called to 1702 First Avenue East at 1:29 p.m. Saturday. Carol Price was traveling east and stopped to turn into a parking lot. Strobel did not realize Price had stopped and slammed on her brakes but her vehicle hit Price’s vehicle. Price had approximately $500 in damage. She was cited and released to appear.
