May 6-12 is National Nurses Week and to recognize the efforts of the more than 50,000 nurses in Iowa, attorney Corey Walker has written a new book entitled “Iowa Nurses Employment Guide” that he is offering free to Iowa Nurses.
Walker decided to write his book and offer it for free because his grandmother Lucille Walker was a registered nurse, and his grandfather Jesse Walker was a doctor; so, he knows what life is like as a nurse. Also, he has represented hundreds of Iowa nurses and wanted them to have a resource they could turn to before making a costly mistake.
“I wrote the book because Iowa nurses play a very important role in our society and they should have information about their rights and responsibilities at work. This is a step in the right direction to educate Iowa nurses to help them avoid making costly mistakes not knowing if the FMLA applies to them, etc.,” Walker said.
