Newton First Assembly of God will host Newton Family Fun Run: The Color Edition at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, 1029 E. 19th St. N.
Three events are scheduled for the whole family to participate in including a 5k walk/run, 1 mile walk/ran and preschool walk, run and trike circle.
The 5k starts at 8 a.m. and participants are to check in 30 minutes prior to the event beginning. The 1 mile walk/run starts at 8:30 a.m. with the preschool activities starting at 9 a.m.
The course begins in the church parking lot and continues onto the Agnes Patterson bike trail. The color tunnel greets participants at the end of the race as it circles back to the church parking lot. Participated are encouraged to wear white.
There is a $20 minimum entry for the 5k and a 1 mile events. An additional donation of $5 is required to go through the Color Tunnel.
Participants will receive a free wristband, water and snack at the run. All proceeds from the run go to orphan child care in China and single mothers in the Midwest.
