James Ricky Fletcher

April 25, 2015

James Ricky Fletcher was born in Duncan, Okla., May 1, 1950, to J.T. And Teressa Fletcher. He died Saturday, April 25, 2015, at his home in Newton.

Rick worked in the oil field in Oklahoma until moving to Iowa and working as an electrician.

He is survived by his son, Jamie and wife Teresa of Kingfisher, Okla.; daughter Darla O’Brien of Hennessey, Okla; two brothers, Tommy and wife Denise of Enid, Okla., and Alan and wife Connie of Beeville, Texas; sister Lee Ann Flaming of Kingfisher, Okla.; and grandchildren, Lorynn O’Brien, Lily and Dexter Fletcher. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Rick always had a smile on his face and loved playing tricks on his brothers. He liked growing things, harvesting and canning. He always had something for you to take home to try, but we seldom did try as he put together some odd stuff with jalapenos and cactus. Rick loved animals of all sorts, especially his dogs. He will be missed.

Rick will be cremated per his wishes, and a tree planted over his ashes. The family wishes to thank Kate and all of Rick’s friends who welcomed him into their world.
