SIOUX CITY — Sioux City has received a $20,000 grant from MidAmerican Energy that will help plant 200 trees in the community.

Sioux City was among 68 cities that received grants to be used toward city beautification projects. A total of $203,000 was awarded. Sioux City’s grant was awarded on Friday. Sioux City economic development specialist Anne Westra says most of Sioux City’s trees will be planted at the Green Valley Golf Course, which was damaged in a storm on Labor Day.
