PCM soccer splits with Centerville

CENTERVILLE — The Prairie City-Monroe girls soccer team had a breakout performance at Centerville on Friday night.

The Mustangs got a pair of goals from Kennah Walters and McKinzie Tjaden and returned home with a 7-0 triumph over the Big Red.

The PCM boys also played Centerville on Friday, losing 2-1.

Joining Walters and Tjaden in the scoring column for the Mustang girls were Jessica Albright, Bella George and Brooklynn Rawlins, who all scored a goal apiece.

McKeely Tjaden spent most of the match in goal and earned the win. Kayla Dustin also played inside the net to help complete the shutout.

The lone boys goal was scored by Ryan Kohlof.

The PCM girls are now 2-6 on the season.

The Mustangs play at Grinnell at 5 p.m. Monday.

The boys are now 0-5 and play at Chariton on Thursday. Chariton defeated the Mustangs 3-2 earlier this season.
